Ran into an odd situation yesterday where my A, S, D, and W keys were swapped with the up, down, left, and right arrows. Logged out, restarted the workstation, and a quick check of my keyboard settings did nothing to resolve the issue. I did boot to Safemode and found the issue was no longer present. After further digging I learned how to remediate the problem, but never found the cause of the swap.
If you ever run into this issue press the "Function" and "W" keys at the same time to swap the mapping back to its original setting.
